Inaugural Health Fair set for Saturday

The first ever Pilot Point Health Fair will be held from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday at Pilot Point Middle School, 828 S. Harrison St. There will be free health screenings including mammograms, glucose and blood pressure testing, and blood donations through Carter BloodCare.

Nonperishable food items will be collected for Shepherd’s Storehouse, Lovepacs Aubrey-Pilot Point, and HOPE Food and Clothing Ministry. Gyotaku, morning hike at Johnson Branch

The Ray Roberts Lake State Park Johnson Branch Unit, 100 PW 4153 in Valley View will have Gyotaku: Japanese Fish Printing, 10 a.m. Saturday, Kid Fish Pond; Beat the Heat Morning Hike, 7:30 a.m. Sunday, Kid Fish Pond; and Beat the Heat Morning Hike, 7:30 a.m. July 27, Kid Fish Pond.

Summer Music Series continues Friday

The final Summer Music Series will be held from 5-9 p.m. Saturday at Veterans Memorial Park in Aubrey. Live music will be provided by Ottoman Turks and Reverend Horton Heat.

Garage Door Theater to hold auditions

The Garage Door Theater will hold auditions for the upcoming performance of “Deathtrap” by Ira Levin from 6-8 p.m. Sunday and Monday at 110 S. Washington St. The play is a suspenseful, clever thriller full of twists, deception and dark humor.

The cast will include three men and two women ages 25 and up with performance dates set for Sept. 12-14 and 19-21.

Business Breakfast to be held in PP

The next Pilot Point Farmers Market will be from 8 a.m.-noon July 26 on the Historic Square. Live music will be provided by Guitar George.

Back to School Bash in Collinsville

The third annual Back to School Bash will be from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. July 27 at the Collinsville Elementary gym. There will be free haircuts and school supplies.

Lovepacs to host open house

Lovepacs Aubrey-Pilot Point has a new location and will be hosting an open house for the public from 3-5 p.m. July 27 at 4940 U.S. 377 Ste. 7 in Aubrey. Participants are asked to bring a packed weekend bag to receive two entries for door prizes. A weekend bag includes ramen, applesauce cup, oatmeal, Pop-Tarts, microwave popcorn, two granola bars and box of mac and cheese or pasta cup.

Donations for the upcoming school year can be dropped off at PointBank, Martin General Store, Brookshire Brothers and the Pilot Point Senior Center. The most needed items at this time are boxes of mac and cheese and granola bars. Financial donations can be made at lovepacs.org.

Remaining summer camps available in the area

There are a variety of youth summer camps still available in Pilot Point, Aubrey and Tioga to help families fill their free time.

School supply drive at Cedar Ridge Rehab

Cedar Ridge Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center will have a school supply drive for Pilot Point ISD through Aug. 1 at 1700 N. Washington St. Requested supplies include notebooks, pens, pencils, erasers, crayons, markers, rulers, backpacks, binders, folders, calculators, glue sticks and scissors.

Harrison St. for Pilot Point ISD students hosted by Pilot Point Police Department, Pilot Point ISD, PPISD Police Department and Pilot Point Chamber of Commerce. There will be free food, school supplies, haircuts and bicycles while supplies last. Students must be present with a parent or guardian to receive supplies.

The fifth annual Back to School Bash will be in downtown Tioga from 3-7 p.m. Aug. 9. There will be vendors, food, treats, shopping, bounce houses and free school supplies.

School Farmers Market in Krugerville

The Krugerville Farmers Market will have a Back to School Market from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Aug. 10 at Woodland Park, 5200 U.S. 377. There will be free kid’s haircuts, vendors, live music, school supply donations and a raffle for teachers.
