Game Day, movies at PP library

The Pilot Point Community Library at 324 S. Washington St. will have Game Day, 9:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Saturday; Stitch & Sketch (ages 10 and up), 11 a.m. Thursday; movie screening: “Where the Crawdads Sing” (adults), 2 p.m. Aug. 15; and kids movie screening: “Mufasa,” 11:30 a.m. Aug. 16.

Fun Friday Finale at Aubrey library

The Aubrey Area Library at 226 Countryside Drive will offer a Fun Friday Finale: Outdoor Fun Fair (all ages), 6-8 p.m. Friday.

Clothes, shoes needed at PPEC

The Pilot Point Early Childhood Center nurse’s office needs new or quality used clean shirts, shorts, pants, socks and shoes sizes 4T to 7 for the new school year. Items can be dropped off at the front office at 829 S. Jefferson St.

Local Lovepacs requests donations

Lovepacs Aubrey/Pilot Point is requesting the following donations: ramen, applesauce cups or pouches, oatmeal, Pop-Tarts, microwave popcorn, granola bars, mac and cheese or pasta cups.

Area drop-off sites include Brookshire Brothers, Martin General Store, Point-Bank, and the Pilot Point Senior Center in Pilot Point; Patrick Nolin Farmers Insurance Agency and The Peanut Gallery in Aubrey; and One Mane Place in Krugerville.

PP football season tickets now on sale

Returning season ticket holders have priority to purchase Pilot Point Bearcat football season tickets through Friday. All remaining season ticket sales will begin Monday at the PPISD Administration Office, 829 S. Harrison St.

Tickets cost $40 each and will be cash or check only.

Aubrey FFA alumni to hold T-shirt sale

The Aubrey Friends and Family FFA Alumni will have a T-shirt sale supporting Aubrey FFA programs from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Friday and 9-11 a.m. Saturday at 105 W. Sherman Drive.

School supply drive at Cedar Ridge Rehab

Cedar Ridge Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center will have a school supply drive for Pilot Point ISD through Friday at 1700 N. Washington St. Requested supplies include notebooks, pens, pencils, erasers, crayons, markers, rulers, backpacks, binders, folders, calculators, glue sticks and scissors.

Texas Armed Services Scholarship Program

Applications for the Texas Armed Services Scholarship Program for high school graduates and current college students in House District 106 are due by 5 p.m. Friday. For more information, go to the Representative Jared Patterson Facebook page.

To be considered, applicants must send a resume and brief cover letter to jared.patterson@ house.texas.gov. This scholarship, worth up to $15,000, encourages participation in ROTC programs and helps develop the next generation of military and civic leaders.

Main Street Motor Fest in downtown Aubrey

The city of Aubrey will sponsor the Main Street Motor Fest from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday in downtown Aubrey. Registration starts at 8 a.m. The cost will be $20 to enter. There will be vendor booths, cars and food trucks.

A complimentary breakfast honoring veterans will be held from 9-10 a.m. Tuesday at the Pilot Point Senior Center, 310 S. Washington St.

Meet the ag teachers for Pilot Point/Aubrey

The Pilot Point FFA will have meet the ag teacher from 6-6:45 p.m. Wednesday at the ag barn and a livestock meeting from 6:45-8 p.m. This will be mandatory for all students housing animals at the Pilot Point ISD ag barn or a parent must attend.

Aubrey FFA will host a fall major livestock show meeting at 6 p.m. Thursday followed by a new member interest meeting at 7 p.m. at the ag barn, 415 Tisdell Lane.

Chamber Cash Stampede at Uncle Beto’s

The Pilot Point Chamber of Commerce will have a Cash Stampede at Uncle Beto’s Mexican Restaurant starting at 5 p.m. Thursday at 108 U.S. 377. After ordering, there will be a drawing for a Leo’s Pizzeria gift card and 2 packs of Texas Rangers tickets plus parking pass donated by TNMP.

Back to School Bash scheduled for PP

A Back to School Bash will be from 9 a.m.noon Aug. 9 at Pilot Point Middle School, 828 S. Harrison St. for Pilot Point ISD students hosted by Pilot Point Police Department, Pilot Point ISD, PPISD Police Department and Pilot Point Chamber of Commerce.

There will be free food, school supplies, haircuts and bicycles while supplies last. Students must be present with a parent or guardian to receive supplies.

Tioga to sponsor Back to School event

The fifth annual Back to School Bash will be in downtown Tioga from 3-7 p.m. Aug. 9. There will be vendors, food, treats, shopping, bounce houses and free school supplies.

School Farmers Market set in Krugerville

The Krugerville Farmers Market will have a Back to School Market from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Aug. 10 at Woodland Park, 5200 U.S. 377. There will be free kid’s haircuts, vendors, live music, school supply drive and a raffle for teachers.

Pilot Point PTO plans Chalk the Walk

Pilot Point PTO will have Chalk the Walk from 2-6 p.m. Aug. 10 (come and go) at Pilot Point Early Childhood Center, 829 S. Jefferson St., and Pilot Point Elementary School, 501 E. Carol St., to encourage students on their first day back to school.

A Touch-A-Truck event will be held from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Aug. 16 at Pilot Point Elementary School. There will be trucks and vehicles of all kinds, face painting, food trucks, trucker hat station and Pilot Point spirit wear available for purchase.

Theatre camp at Tioga HS
