Busy Beaver Table at Isle du Bois

The Ray Roberts Lake State Park Johnson Branch Unit, 100 PW 4153 in Valley View will have Volunteer Information Table, 1 p.m. Saturday, and Labor Day’s Over: Let’s Tidy up the Shore, 9 a.m.-noon Sept. 2, Nature Center parking lot.

The Isle du Bois Unit, 100 PW 4137 in Pilot Point will offer Busy Beaver Table, 9-11 a.m. Saturday, Day Use Area; and Make a Snake Craft, 2 p.m. Aug. 30, Nature Center.

Local Lovepacs requests donations

Lovepacs Aubrey/Pilot Point is requesting the following donations: ramen, applesauce cups or pouches, oatmeal, Pop-Tarts, microwave popcorn, granola bars, mac and cheese or pasta cups.

Area drop-off sites include Brookshire Brothers, Martin General Store, Point-Bank, and the Pilot Point Senior Center in Pilot Point; Patrick Nolin Farmers Insurance Agency and The Peanut Gallery in Aubrey; and One Mane Place in Krugerville.

Pilot Point Bearcat football season tickets are on sale at the PPISD Administration Office, 829 S. Harrison St.

Meet the Chaps set for Aubrey

Aubrey ISD will host Meet the Chaps with gates opening at 6 p.m. Friday at the Aubrey High School football field.

Cultiv8 Community at PointBank Center

The City Center Churches in partnership with Cultiv8 Community will meet at 5:30 p.m. Monday at the PointBank Community Center, 200 S. U.S. 377. Community members will explore issues of poverty while playing a poverty simulation board game.

A meal will be provided as participants discuss the strengths, resources and gaps in the community and seek to create an environment where all can flourish, now and for generations to come.

PP Fine Arts program to have Meet the Teacher

The Pilot Point Fine Arts program will have Meet the Teacher at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Pilot Point First United Methodist Church, 217 S. Church St.

The program will begin Sept. 15. Classes include handbells (ages 8-12), intro to watercolor (ages 7-11), sew much fun (ages 8-12), art and music (ages 3-7), and soul harmony choir (ages 8 and up).

Annual Chrome Fest to be held on the Square

The annual Chrome Fest car show and community event will be held from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Aug. 30 on the Pilot Point Historic Square. There will be hotrods; vintage cars, trucks and motorcycles; live music with New Beginnings and the Bearcat High School band and cheerleaders; and the annual tug of war between police and fire. Live and silent auction proceeds will go to the local Meals on Wheels.

Drivers needed for Meals on Wheels

Volunteer drivers are needed to deliver Meals on Wheels one day a week Monday-Friday for 2 to 2 1/2 hours from 10:15 a.m.12:45 p.m. in Aubrey, Krugerville and Pilot Point.
