PPYSA Youth Night on Friday

The PPYSA Youth Night will be Friday at Massey Stadium. Participants need to be on the track by the scoreboard at 6:30 p.m. to line up for running of the cats. All PPYSA athletes wearing their uniforms will get in the game free.

Chrome Fest set for Saturday

Chrome Fest has been rescheduled to 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday on the Pilot Point Square. There will be a car show, food trucks, live music by New Beginnings, giveaways, Bearcat Band and cheerleaders, live and silent auctions, and police and fire tug-of-war.

Aubrey Cares to sponsor benefit concert

PP Drumline Invitational at Massey Stadium

The fifth annual Pilot Point Drumline Invitational will begin at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Massey Stadium. There will be eight schools competing with Aubrey performing at 2 p.m. and Pilot Point at 2:30 p.m. Entry will be $3 at the gate.

GDT to present ‘Deathtrap’

The Garage Door Theater will present “Deathtrap” directed by Cindy Kennedy at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday with a matinee performance at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at 110 S. Washington St.

Aubrey ISD to have legacy cooperative

The second cohort of the Chaparral Legacy Cooperative will be held from 9:3011 a.m. Tuesday with Superintendent Dr. Shannon Saylor at the Aubrey ISD Administration Building, 415 Tisdell Lane. This cooperative is designed for Aubrey residents ages 60 and over interested in learning about Aubrey schools, children and how to make a difference with future generations.

The town of Cross Roads will be sponsoring the third annual Founder’s Day Festival from 2-8 p.m. Sept. 27 at Star Ranch-Denton ISD Ag Facility, 8400 Fishtrap Road. There will be artisan vendors, live glass blowing demonstrations, local art and handmade crafts.

City of Aubrey to hold photography contest

The city of Aubrey will have a photography contest with the following divisions: adult (ages 19 and older), youth (ages 5-8), junior (ages 9-13) and senior (ages 14-18). Categories include Aubrey-themed, people, scenic, animals, general, architecture and humor. Entries will be accepted in person at Aubrey City Hall from 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Sept. 29-30 at 107 S. Main St.

Birdies Fore Bulldogs Golf Tournament

The Tioga Youth Sports Association is hosting the annual Birdies Fore Golf Tournament at 8:30 a.m. Oct. 3 at The Bridges Golf Club, 2400 Fred Couples Drive in Gunter. Registration includes a complimentary breakfast and lunch as well as raffles and giveaways. Annual Peanut Festival set for Aubrey

The 39th annual Peanut Festival will begin at 9 a.m. Oct. 4 with a parade at 10 a.m. There will be a free kids zone, pony rides, vendors, live music and food trucks.

Buddy Bass Tournament planned at Ray Roberts

National Night Out events in area

National Night Out encourages residents and local law enforcement to come together each fall. The following area police departments will be having events this year.

•Cross Roads Police Department will have NNO in connection with the Cross Roads Founders Day event from 2-8 p.m. Sept. 27 at Star Ranch-Denton ISD Ag Facility, 8400 Fishtrap Road;

•Aubrey Police Department will have NNO community block parties Oct. 7 in Providence Village, Sandbrock Ranch and Winn Ridge;

•Krugerville Police Department will have NNO from 5-8 p.m. Oct. 7 at Woodland Park, 5200 U.S. 377;

•Pilot Point Police Department will be attending NNO community block parties from 6-8 p.m. Oct. 7 throughout Pilot Point.

Chamber to sponsor Stampede, Glow-in-One

The Pilot Point Chamber of Commerce will have a Cash Stampede at 5 p.m. Oct. 7 at Christie’s Golf Ranch followed by the second annual Glow-in-One at 8 p.m. at 920 U.S. 377. Golf balls will cost $20 each and must be prepurchased by Oct. 6. The ball closest to the hole wins $250. Proceeds will be donated to the Pilot Point Community Arts program.

Bonnie, Clyde Days in downtown PP

The Pilot Point Main Street Program will sponsor Bonnie & Clyde Days from 11 a.m.-8 p.m. Oct. 11 on the Historic Pilot Point Square. There will be a car show, kids zone, book sale, live music and performing arts, pie eating contest and film reenactment.
