Intro to Genealogy at PP library

The Pilot Point Community Library at 324 S. Washington St. will offer Introduction to Genealogy (adults), 2 p.m. Friday; STEAM Lab: Invent an art machine (ages 9-12), 4 p.m. Thursday; Cookbook Club (adults), 2 p.m. Oct. 17; and STEAM Explorers: Elephant Toothpaste (ages 6-8), 4 p.m. Oct. 21.

There will be a book sale from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday in front of the museum during Bonnie & Clyde Days.

Senior Social Hour at Aubrey library

The Aubrey Area Library at 226 Countryside Drive will have after school storytime (all ages), 4:15 p.m. Tuesday; Meditation Hour (ages 16 and up), 5:30 p.m. Tuesday; and Senior Social Hour (ages 50 and up), 11:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Storytimes will be canceled Friday. Take home crafts will be available.

Brockett PTO to host glow party

The Brockett Elementary PTO will have a glow party from 6-8 p.m. Friday at 900 Chestnut St. in Aubrey. There will be dancing, music, food trucks and bounce houses. Tickets are $5 per child with adults and children under 5 free.

Fall Cleanup to be held in Tioga

The city of Tioga will have Fall Cleanup from 7 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday. Dumpsters will be placed behind City Hall. Tioga residents will need to bring a water bill as proof of residency. No chemicals, paint, tires, batteries or appliances that use refrigerants will be accepted.

Mountain Springs to hold October Market

The Mountain Springs Community Center October Market will be held from 8:30 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday at 173 Mountain Springs Lane.

National Drug Take Back area locations

North Shore Fire to sponsor dinner, auction

The North Shore Fire Department will have the annual fundraiser dinner at 5 p.m. Saturday followed by a live and silent auction at 7 p.m. at 4736 CR 203 in Tioga. Tickets are $20 per person.

Hazardous waste fall drop off

Grace Point to celebrate 117 years on Sunday

Grace Point Church of the Nazarene will celebrate 117 years being in Pilot Point at 10 a.m. Sunday at 611 E. Liberty St. The community is invited to hear guest speaker Dr. Ryan Giffin, the archivist for the global Church of the Nazarene.

State of Texas to hold free college application week

City Hall construction to start Tuesday

Construction will start Tuesday in Pilot Point that will close Jefferson Street from Main Street to the back end of the City Hall parking lot, as the property attached to City Hall will be demolished. The project is estimated to take three months.

Aubrey Chamber plans October luncheon

The Aubrey 380 Area Chamber of Commerce will host the October networking luncheon at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at Fortunata Winery, 2297 FM 2931 in Aubrey. Guest speaker will be Rep. Jared Patterson.

PPFUMC collects new, used towels

The Pilot Point First United Methodist Church Youth are collecting new and used towels to benefit All American Dogs, an animal shelter in Pilot Point. The last day to donate will be Oct. 19.

BARKtoberfest set for Cross Roads

BARKtoberfest will be from 1-4 p.m. Oct. 19 at Cross Roads Town Park, corner of FM 424 and Fishtrap Road. There will be a Doggie Costume Contest and a rummage sale to raise funds for I Am Dog Rescue.

Early voting to start in Texas

Early voting in Texas will be from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Oct. 20-25, 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Oct. 26 and 7 a.m.-7 p.m. Oct. 27-31 with Election Day being 7 a.m.-7 p.m. Nov. 4. There will be 17 proposed amendments to the state constitution this year, along with a variety of local and special elections.
