The Pilot Point Lady Cats volleyball team took a step forward in 2025, doubling their win total from a season ago and resulting in multiple members of the team receiving alldistrict recognition.
Freshman libero Ava Koonce and junior middle blocker Alliyah Smith headlined the Lady Cats honorees, with both being named second team all-district for 3A Region II District 10.
Koonce collected 168 digs, 4 kills and 4 aces over 40 sets of district play, while Smith generated 93 kills, 16 digs and 4 aces in 37 sets of district action.
Junior outside hitter Shannon Taylor, sophomore setter Darbi Smalskas, and sophomore outside hitter Tenley Stephens rounded out the Lady Cats’ selections, being named all-district honorable mention.
Taylor finished 40 sets of district play with 90 digs, 77 kills and 12 aces.
Smalskas had 58 digs, 12 aces and 12 kills over 40 sets of district play.
Stephens added 68 digs, 37 kills and 12 aces through 40 sets of district play.
Six members of the Lady Cats— Koonce, Taylor, Smalskas, junior Shelby French, junior Mattisyn Rodriguez and junior Kara Delgado—were also named academic alldistrict.
