The Aubrey Lady Chaparrals volleyball team concluded the 2025 season as the 4A Region II regional runnersup, resulting in multiple Lady Chaps receiving alldistrict recognition.
The Lady Chaps ran through their district with a 14-0 record and had nine members named to the all-district teams and three honorable mentions.
Senior middle blocker Shae Ward headlined the Lady Chaps honorees, being named District 9’s Most Valuable Player.
Ward led the Lady Chaps with 660 kills and 124 blocks.
Senior setter Baylee Hampton was named the district’s Setter of the Year for the second season in a row and set a new Aubrey ISD single-season record with 1,468 assists.
Hampton also contributed 441 digs, 191 kills and 41 aces for the season.
Freshman libero Emma Conley was named the district’s Co-Newcomer of the Year after tallying 740 digs and 141 assists.
Junior setter Jentry Runion was named the district’s Co-Server of the Year with 61 aces and added 370 digs and 101 assists.
Freshman outside hitter Libby Collins, senior defensive specialist Addy Cagle and senior middle blocker Kylie Miller were named first team all-district.
Collins finished her first season of varsity play with 321 kills, 109 digs and 37 blocks.
Cagle had 443 digs and 21 aces, followed by Miller, who tallied 342 kills and 78 blocks.
Junior right side Ava Thompson and junior outside hitter Katie Michael were named second team all-district.
Thompson finished the year with 121 kills, 59 digs and 55 blocks, and Michael collected 144 kills, 56 digs and 12 blocks.
Junior outside hitter Chloe Miller, senior defensive specialist Emily Shearer and freshman defensive specialist Reese Martino completed the Lady Chaps honorees, being named as all-district honorable mentions.
Miller missed a significant amount of district play due to injury but finished with 341 kills and 329 digs.
Shearer tallied 142 digs and 11 aces, while Martino added 49 digs and 18 aces.
Thirteen members of the Lady Chaps’ roster— Hampton, Cagle, Runion, Collins, Chloe, Kylie, Martino, Michael, Shearer, Thompson, Emma, Margaret Conley and Phebe Matthews— and team managers Kenzie Temple and Abby Lynch-Buxton received academic all-district honors.
