Great Grandma’s Fudge Cake

Cake Ingredients:

2 cups of AP flour

2 cups of sugar

1 stick of butter ½ cups veg. oil

4 tbsp of cocoa powder ½ cup of buttermilk

1 tsp of vanilla extract ¼ tsp of salt

1 tsp of baking soda

2 eggs

1 cup of water Frosting Ingredients:

1 stick of butter

4 tbsp of cocoa powder

5 tbsp of milk

1 tsp vanilla extract

1 box of powdered sugar

Instructions:

1. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.

2. Sift 2 cups of flour (AP) & 2 cups of sugar into a large bowl.

3. Put 1 stick of butter, ½ a cup of veg. Oil, 1 cup of water, 4 tbsp of cocoa powder into a pan & bring to a boil. Pour this hot mixture over the flour & sugar.

4. Add ½ a cup of buttermilk, 1 tsp of vanilla extract,

¼ tsp of salt, 1 tsp of baking soda, and 2

eggs to the bowl. Mix well.

5. Pour into a well-greased & floured cookie sheet. 15 ½ by 10 ½ by 1 inch. Bake for 20 minutes at 400.

6. 10-15 minutes before the cake is done, combine 1 stick of butter, 4 tbsp of cocoa powder, 5 tbsp of milk and bring to a boil. Remove from fire and add 1 tsp of vanilla extract and 1 box of powdered sugar. Spread onto the cake while hot.
