The 2025 UIL football season ended in December, and after the dust settled on the gridiron, multiple athletes in the Ranch Cities area received postseason accolades.
The Pilot Point Bearcats finished second in 3A Division I Region II District 6, with a 9-3 overall record, and earned their second Bi-District Championship in as many years with a win over the West Trojans in the opening round of the playoffs.
The Bearcats had 18 members of their team earn all-district honors, with six more being named alldistrict honorable mention.
Senior defensive end Caden David headlined the Bearcats honorees, being named the district’s Defensive Most Valuable Player.
David finished the season with 52 tackles, including 19 tackles for loss, 7 sacks, 1 forced fumble and 1 fumble recovery.
Junior running back Josh Chumley was named Co-Offensive Most Valuable Player after running for 960 yards and 14 touchdowns on the year.
Junior lineman Josh Martinez was recognized as Defensive Newcomer of the Year, with 63 tackles, including 11 TFL and 2 fumble recoveries.
Senior lineman Julio Almaguer was honored as the district’s Outstanding Offensive Lineman, and senior kicker Anthony Torres was named All-District Kicker after making 4 of 5 field goals and 48 of 55 extra-point kicks.
Senior linebacker Carter Lock, senior running back and defensive back Hunter Newman, senior safety Ashton Williamson, senior tight end Kade Stuckly, junior offensive lineman Alex Luna and junior defensive end Jason Rangel were named first team all-district.
Senior quarterback Garrett Evans, senior linebacker Michael Marsh, senior running back and defensive back Drevion James, senior lineman Memo Esparza, and junior linemen Daniel Medrano and Eli Knoblet were named second team all-district.
The Bearcats' all-district honorable mentions included senior receiver Luke Connor, senior offensive lineman Preston Akins, senior utility player Fernando Marmalejo, sophomore defensive tackle Kaleb Reid, sophomore utility player David Pickrel and sophomore tight end Stephen Campbell.
No information regarding the district’s academic all-district team was available by press time.
The Tioga Bulldogs finished third in 2A Division I Region II District 6, with a 5-5 overall record, and lost to the eventual 2A Division I State Champion Hamilton Bulldogs in the opening round of the playoffs.
The Bulldogs had 14 players earn all-district recognition and three honorable mentions.
Sophomore utility player Quesyn Arrington led the Bulldogs this season with 283 all-purpose yards, 3 touchdowns, 45 tackles, 3 INT and was named the district’s Newcomer of the Year.
Senior quarterback Greeley McAden, senior offensive lineman Cooper Fisher, junior receiver Jaxson Hurst, junior defensive back Justin Arrington, junior linebackers Jaxton Dejernett, Kyson Kirkland and Raul Chavez, and sophomore Bryson Bradley were named all-district first team.
Senior running back Jonathan Hernandez, senior defensive back Caden Downing, senior defensive lineman Caleb Moncrief, senior defensive back Wes Wilmon, junior lineman Kooper Vandagriff, and freshman lineman Karson Stewart were named second team alldistrict.
The Bulldogs’ honorable mentions included sophomore lineman Jesus Enriques, senior defensive back Hayden Roberts and defensive back Wyatt Smotherman.
McAden, Downing, Roberts, Wilmon, Moncrief, Fisher, Hurst, Dejernett, Kirkland, Chavez, Vandagriff, Smotherman, and Bradley; seniors Kai Goree, Ricky Norris, Jayson Stogner, and Hunter Cassell; juniors Jake David, Adrian Calderon, Anibal Becerra, and Carter Melson; and sophomore Raiden Washington—earned academic all-district recognition.
McAden was also named to the 2025 Texas High School Coaches Association Academic All-State Football Team.
The Aubrey Chaparrals ended the season 3-7, finishing fifth in 4A Division I Region II District 7.
The Chaps had 13 players named to the all-district team and two players named as honorable mentions.
Senior defensive end Logan Gannon was named Defensive Lineman of the Year, finishing the season with 36 tackles, 15 TFL, 14 sacks, and 3 forced fumbles.
Sophomore Riley Lemons was named Defensive Newcomer of the Year after tallying 30 tackles, 2 TFL, 1 INT, 3 FF and 1 fumble recovery.
The Chaps’ junior class—offensive linemen Brayden Wood and Stephan Coffman; defensive end Blake Wheeler; linebacker Jaxson Doramus; defensive back Braxton Osterman; and safety Luke Hellman— filled out their first-team district selections.
Senior linebacker Camron Haygood, junior linebacker Elijah Gutierrez, junior defensive tackle Petrus Van Rijn, sophomore quarterback Connor Murphy and sophomore guard Charles Mulkey were named all-district second team.
The Chaps’ honorable mentions included senior guard Elliot Kinney and junior defensive tackle Jayson Melzer.
Twelve Chaps—Doramus, Haygood, Hellman, Wheeler, Coffman, Van Rijn, junior quarterback Will Storey, sophomore tight end Cole Travascio, Jackson Polen, junior kicker Peyton Campbell, junior lineman Derek King, and senior lineman Cailen Johnston— earned academic all-district honors.
Senior running back and defensive lineman Devin McDaniel, senior lineman Chris Retana and team manager Naomi Nkwodinma were named to the 2025 THSCA Academic All-State team.
