COMMUNITY SERVICES

With development comes inevitable change. This year, we saw the retirement of three members of our staff (Director John Taylor, Building Official Zac Loiselle and Administrative Assistant JoAnn Wright) as well as the transition to the department being called “Community Services”. This was due to a renewed focus on customer service in dealing with developers and contractors.

With more than 937 acres annexed into Pilot Point’s City Limits this year and six more planned development agreements approved by Council, the department has kept busy throughout the year, starting with the April adoption of the Plan Pilot Point Master Plan Set, which will inform our progress moving forward across all departments. A crucial part of this set, the Downtown Master Plan, was awarded the Gold Award for Economic Development Planning by the American Planning Association - Texas Chapter this fall.
