The Aubrey Chaparrals girls and boys powerlifting team opened the 2026 season with a strong showing at the Iron Cat Classic Invitational meet hosted in Sherman on Jan. 15.
The Lady Chaps had 15 participants in the events and finished second overall, with a team total of 50 points.
Matiana Walter won silver in the 97-pound weight class, lifting a total of 620 pounds.
Zoe Fikes finished fourth in the same weight class, lifting a total of 560 pounds.
Presley Howard won gold in the 114-pound weight class, lifting a total of 695 pounds.
Asia’h Dallas tied for second place in the 114-pound weight class with a total of 685 pounds.
In the 123-pound weight class, Bianca Bertolani earned silver, lifting a total of 720 pounds.
Paula Pannuzzo also competed in the 123-pound weight class, winning bronze with a total of 690 pounds.
Skyla Morgan finished 13th in the 132-pound weight class, lifting a total of 570 pounds.
First-year lifter Alaya Harnett won bronze in the 148-pound class with a weight total of 770 pounds.
Maria Peraza finished 10th in the 148-pound weight class, lifting a total of 615 pounds.
First-year lifter Emma Cano secured bronze in the 165-pound class with a weight total of 750 pounds lifted.
Maggie Daniel finished fifth in the same weight class, lifting a total of 690 pounds.
Naomi Nkwodinma won gold in the 198-pound weight class with a total of 1,045 pounds lifted.
Ella Burton earned bronze in the same weight class, lifting a total of 905 pounds.
In the 242-pound weight class, Jaida McCoy finished fourth with a total of 745 pounds.
Haylee Moon won gold in the 242+ weight class, lifting a total of 1,135 pounds.
The Chaps also finished second overall at the Iron Cat Invitational.
Tanner Harrison secured silver in the 114-pound weight class, while Chaitanya Kadiri earned bronze in the same weight class.
Christian Southard won gold in the 123-pound weight class.
Jaxson Doramus earned bronze in the 165-pound weight class.
Riley DuFrene won gold in the 198-pound weight class, and Ashton Offenbaucher also competed in the 198-pound weight class, earning bronze.
Brayden Wood finished fifth in the 308-pound weight class.
Kai Aquinaldo, Brandon Gilchrist, Charles Mulkey, Raul Rosales, Gabe Saunders, Avean Green, and Cole Travascio also competed in the event.
