STEAM Explorers at PP library

The Pilot Point Community Library at 324 S. Washington St. will offer STEAM Explorers (ages 6-8), 4 p.m. Feb. 17, and Food Preservation Workshop, 1 p.m. Feb. 20. The Resume Building and Jobseeker Workshop has been rescheduled to 11 a.m. March 28.

United Way of Denton County will provide tax assistance to households earning less than $67,000/year on Thursdays from 4-6:30 p.m. through April 9.

Senior Bingo at Aubrey library

The Aubrey Area Library at 226 Countryside Drive will have Decorate Your Library, 4:30 p.m. Friday; Senior Bingo (ages 50 and over), 10:30 a.m. Saturday; Lightbulb Lab (ages 5-13), 4:30 p.m. Wednesday; Tween Club (ages 9-13), 4:30 p.m. Feb. 13; and Little Sweet Bubble Party (ages 6 and under), 10:30 a.m. Feb. 14.

The Winter Reading Challenge will go through the end of February for all ages. Participants can pick up reading logs to earn prizes and raffle tickets.

Casino Night date rescheduled

Father, Daughter Dance at UNT Gateway Center

Teddy bear drive for Avir Senior Living

Donations for new or gently loved teddy bears or stuffed animals are being accepted through Feb. 13 for residents of Avir Senior Living Center in Pilot Point at the Pilot Point Coffee House, 110 W. Main St.

Francis Vidil to play at Central Hall

Free UNT tuition for qualifying students

A new program at the University of North Texas will cover the full cost of tuition and fees for Texas students with a family income of less than $100,000 a year. Students must rank in the top 25% of their high school graduating class to qualify.

Eligible students must be admitted and complete a FAFSA application by Feb. 15.

Early voting dates in Denton County

Early voting for Denton County will be 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Feb. 17-20, 7 a.m.-7 p.m. Feb. 21, 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Feb. 22 and 7 a.m.-7 p.m. Feb. 23-27 with the primary election March 3.

Career Fair planned for Pilot Point HS

Bearcat Band plans Chili Chowdown

The Mighty Bearcat Band will have the annual Chili Chowdown at 6 p.m. Feb. 24 at the Pilot Point High School cafeteria. Cost will be $10 per person. There will be food, entertainment and a raffle.

Bingo Night at Brockett Elementary

Tic-Tac-Toe Leap during February

The third annual Tic-Tac-Toe Leap will be held during the month of February in Pilot Point.

Participating businesses include Corner Café, Healthy Gait, Leo’s Pizzeria, Martin General Store, Nick’s Italian Restaurant, Notoriously Yours, Pilot Point Coffee House, Pilot Point Feed Store, Pilot Point Florist, Powerhouse Burger, Rooted In and Southern Junkiez.

Auditions for ‘Shrek The Musical’

The Texas Farm Bureau is offering scholarship applications for high school seniors and college students at txfb.us/scholarships26. The deadline to apply is March 2.

The Pilot Point Community Library is partnering with NeighborhoodForest to give children in the community a free tree to plant at home during Earth Week. Pick up from the library is required.

The Pilot Point Flower Festival will be held from 9 a.m.-noon March 28 on the Historic Pilot Point Square. Vendors are needed for homemade goods, gardening items, or plants and outdoor items and services.

Meals on Wheels seeks drivers
