Early voting for Denton County will be 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Friday, 7 a.m.-7 p.m. Saturday, 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday and 7 a.m.-7 p.m. Monday- Feb. 27 with the primary election March 3.

The Isle du Bois Unit, 100 PW 4137 in Pilot Point will have Winter Bird Hike, 2 p.m. Saturday, meet at Lost Pines Amphitheater; Texas Parks & Wildlife Department Career Day, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Feb. 28, Nature Center; and Native Gardening, 2 p.m. March 7, Lost Pines Amphitheater.

The Pilot Point Community Library at 324 S. The Pilot Point Educational Foundation will sponsor the annual fundraising gala benefitting PPISD at 6 p.m. Saturday at the UNT Gateway Center in Denton. The theme will be Lights, Camera, Auction with attire being orange carpet ready.

Bulldog Home Run Derby in Tioga
The Bulldog Home Run Derby will begin at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Tioga softball field. The cost will be $10 for 10 swings. All proceeds will benefit the Tioga baseball and softball programs.
Bearcat Band plans Chili Chowdown
The Mighty Bearcat Band will have the annual Chili Chowdown at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Pilot Point High School cafeteria. Cost will be $10 per person. There will be food, entertainment and a raffle.

The city of Pilot Point is accepting applications for the next Citizen’s Government Academy through Feb. 27 at pilotpointtx.gov under Community.
Classes will be held from March 23-June 15 with graduation at the June 25 City Council meeting.

PPISD Police Department golf tournament
The second annual Pilot Point ISD Police Department charity golf tournament will start at 9 a.m. March 13 with registration at 8 a.m. at Stone Creek Country Club in Sherman. Entry fee is $500/foursome including four mulligans and lunch. Proceeds will benefit the Bearcat golf program and Shop with a Bearcat Christmas program.

Free tree sign up at Neighborhood Forest
The Pilot Point Community Library is partnering with NeighborhoodForest to give children in the community a free tree to plant at home during Earth Week. Pick up from the library is required.

Ribbon cutting for baseball field

STA accepts art submissions
The Southwest Transplant Alliance will accept original art submissions representing what it means to “Leave a Legacy” through March 27 for all students in grades 9-12. Grand prize will be a $250 gift card, art supplies and a gallery display.
