Citizen’s Academy accepts applications

The city of Pilot Point is accepting applications for the next Citizen’s Government Academy through Friday at pilotpointtx.gov under Community.

Classes will be held from March 23-June 15 with graduation at the June 25 City Council meeting.

Career Day at Isle du Bois

The Ray Roberts Lake State Park Johnson Branch Unit, 100 PW 4153 in Valley View will have Spring Fling, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. March 14, Nature Center parking lot, and Namaste in Nature, 1 p.m. March 14, Nature Center parking lot.

The Isle du Bois Unit, 100 PW 4137 in Pilot Point will have Texas Parks & Wildlife Department Career Day, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, Nature Center, and Native Gardening, 2 p.m. March 7, Lost Pines Amphitheater.

Adult Craft at PP library

The Pilot Point Community Library at 324 S. Washington St. will offer Adult Craft: No-Sew Hand Warmers, 2 p.m. Friday; Read to a Horse (all ages), 3 p.m. March 10; Boys & Girls Club activity (ages 6-11), 3:30 p.m. March 11; Backyard Wildlife Habitats (adults), 2 p.m. March 20; and Goodwill Resume Building and Jobseeker Workshop (adults), 11 a.m. March 21.

Volunteers are still needed for the Bloomfield Schoolhouse.

Bingo Night at Brockett Elementary

Brockett Elementary PTO will have Bingo Night from 6-8 p.m. Friday at 900 Chestnut St. in Aubrey. Food will be available for purchase.

AHS to present ‘Anna Mae’

Aubrey High School Theatre will present “Anna Mae” at 7 p.m. Friday at the Aubrey High School auditorium, 510 Spring Hill Road. Tickets will be $10 and can be purchased at our.show/ahsoap26.

‘Curse of the Mummy’ at Starbright Center

The “Curse of the Mummy” will be performed at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday and March 6-7 with matinee performances at 2:30 p.m. Sunday and March 8 at the Starbright Center for the Arts, 110 S. Washington St.

Auditions for “Shrek The Musical” will be from 6-8 p.m. Sunday and Monday with show dates in May.

Volunteer orientation at Blue Sky

Blue Sky Therapeutic Riding & Respite will host a volunteer orientation from 10 a.m.-noon Saturday for volunteers for the horse and PURPOSE programs.

Tic-Tac-Toe Leap drawing Saturday

The third annual Tic-Tac-Toe Leap is being held through the month of February in Pilot Point.

Participating businesses include Corner Café, Healthy Gait, Leo’s Pizzeria, Martin General Store, Nick’s Italian Restaurant, Notoriously Yours, Pilot Point Coffee House, Pilot Point Feed Store, Pilot Point Florist, Powerhouse Burger, Rooted In and Southern Junkiez.

Participants should return completed cards to Martin General Store, 101 S. Jefferson St. for a drawing on Saturday.

Texas Farm Bureau offers scholarships

The Texas Farm Bureau is offering scholarship applications for high school seniors and college students at txfb. us/scholarships26. The deadline to apply is Monday.

Scholarships are available for first-year students attending Texas State Technical College on a first-come, first-served basis. Participants need to apply at texasfarmbureau. org/scholarships.

Father, Daughter Dance

in Collinsville

Collinsville Elementary PTO will sponsor a Father Daughter Dance from 6:308:30 p.m. March 6 at the Collinsville High School cafeteria, 202 N. Broadway St. Cost will be $10 per father/daughter.

Denton Freedom House 12th annual gala

The Denton Freedom House will host the 12th annual gala, “Where Fresh Starts Take Root,” at 7 p.m. March 6 at Midway Church, 9540 U.S. 377. Tickets cost $85.

Bingo Fundraiser at Mountain Springs

A fundraiser for a new marquee will begin at 5 p.m. March 7 at the Mountain Springs Community Center, 173 Mountain Springs Lane in Valley View. Cost will be $20 per person. There will be prizes and snacks.

PPISD Police Department golf tournament

The second annual Pilot Point ISD Police Department charity golf tournament will start at 9 a.m. March 13 with registration at 8 a.m. at Stone Creek Country Club in Sherman. Entry fee is $500/ foursome including four mulligans and lunch. Proceeds will benefit the Bearcat golf program and Shop with a Bearcat Christmas program.

Free tree sign up at Neighborhood Forest

The Pilot Point Community Library is partnering with NeighborhoodForest to give children in the community a free tree to plant at home during Earth Week. Pick up from the library is required.

Pilot Point ISD will have Youth Night and a ribbon cutting for the new baseball field at 6 p.m. March 17 at 550 E. Liberty St. There will be hamburgers, hot dogs and drinks provided.

Annual Spring Clean

at Veterans Park

The annual Spring Clean for household hazardous waste and electronics recycling will be from 9 a.m.noon March 21 at Veterans Memorial Park, 301 S. Main St. in Aubrey.

Participants need to bring a copy of a water bill to confirm residency in one of the following areas: city of Aubrey proper, Sandbrock Ranch, Winn Ridge, Silverado or Aspen Meadows.

Daddy, Daughter Dance at PPHS cafeteria

The 2026 Pilot Point Daddy Daughter Dance for pre-k through fifth grade, “Under the Sea,” will be held from 6-9 p.m. March 21 at the Pilot Point High School cafeteria. Cost will be $45 for dads with daughters free.

STA accepts art submissions

The Southwest Transplant Alliance will accept original art submissions representing what it means to “Leave a Legacy” through March 27 for all students in grades 9-12. Grand prize will be a $250 gift card, art supplies and a gallery display.
