Read to a Horse at PP library

PP baseball to host first Hit-A-Thon
Pilot Point baseball will host the first annual Hit-A-Thon fundraiser at 4:30 p.m. Friday at the new turf baseball field. Players will be competing against each other, and participants can pledge a player’s total distance hit.

‘Curse of the Mummy’ at Starbright Center
The “Curse of the Mummy” will be performed at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday with a matinee performance at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the Starbright Center for the Arts, 110 S. Washington St.

A fundraiser for a new marquee will begin at 5 p.m. Saturday at the Mountain Springs Community Center, 173 Mountain Springs Lane in Valley View. Cost will be $20 per person. There will be prizes and snacks.

PPISD Police Department golf tournament
The second annual Pilot Point ISD Police Department charity golf tournament will start at 9 a.m. March 13 with registration at 8 a.m. at Stone Creek Country Club in Sherman. Entry fee is $500/foursome including four mulligans and lunch. Proceeds will benefit the Bearcat golf program and Shop with a Bearcat Christmas program.

Aubrey ISD will have Future Chaps Soccer Night beginning at 6 p.m. March 13 with varsity boys followed by future Chaps recognition Pre-K through eighth grade at 7:15 p.m. and varsity girls at 7:30 p.m. There will be free hot dogs for future Chaps.

2026 PP Chamber to host update
The 2026 Pilot Point Chamber Update will be from 5:30-7 p.m. March 19 at the Lone Star Lodge and Marina, 2200 FM 1192. Guest speakers will be Pilot Point City Manager Britt Lusk and Pilot Point ISD Superintendent Dr. Shannon Fuller. Food will be catered by Nick’s Italian Restaurant.

PP NHS to sponsor Spring Fest
Pilot Point High School National Honor Society will have Spring Fest starting at 8 a.m. March 21 at 1300 N. Washington St. There will be a 5K/1K Fun Run, local vendors, car wash and food trucks.
All proceeds will go toward supporting NHS student initiatives, service projects and scholarships.
Annual Spring Clean at Veterans Park
The annual Spring Clean for household hazardous waste and electronics recycling will be from 9 a.m.- noon March 21 at Veterans Memorial Park, 301 S. Main St. in Aubrey.

The American Legion Auxiliary is collecting items to take to the Bonham VA hospital and nursing home. Items can be dropped off at the American Legion Unit 550, 905 Foundation Drive and include body wash, deodorant, lotion, shaving cream, disposable and electric razors, nail clippers, combs, brushes, lip balm, bottled water, coffee, juice boxes, individually wrapped snacks, chips, cookies, candy, Danishes, donuts, leather crafts, plastic model cars, big dominoes, journals, notebooks, adult coloring books, markers, colored pencils, stamps, pens and stationary.
