Area basketball players make All-District

The buzzer has sounded on the end of basketball season, and multiple Ranch Cities’ athletes were recognized for their performance on the hardwood this season.

Pilot Point

Pilot Point’s boys basketball team finished third in District 10 of 3A Region II with an 18-15 overall record, reaching the bi-district round of the postseason.

The Bearcats returned to the playoffs for the first time in two seasons, and as a result Jeff Price, Pilot Point head boys coach, was named District 10’s Coach of the Year.

The Bearcats senior point guard Hunter Newman was named first team all-district after leading the team with 16 points, 5.7 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 2 steals per game.

Newman was also named to the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches 2025-26 UIL Boys All-Region Team for 3A Region 2.

Junior guard Alejandro Phillips was named second team all-district, averaging 8 points, 3 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game.

Senior guard Michael Marsh, junior forward David Juarez and junior center Luke Conner rounded out the Bearcats honorees, being named all-district honorable mentions.

The Lady Cats finished with a 1-22 overall record, placing seventh in District 10 of 3A Region 2.

Juniors Alliyah Smith and McKayla Rushing were named all-district honorable mention.

Sophomore Brooklyn Renfro and freshman Carsen Josey earned academic alldistrict honors.

Aubrey

The Lady Chaps finished the season with a 20-13 record, placing fourth in District 9 of 4A Region II and reaching the area round of the postseason.

Junior guard Aniyah Davis headlined the Lady Chaps honorees, being named first team all-district after averaging 10 points, 3 rebounds and 4 steals per game.

Three of the Lady Chaps seniors—Addalyn Cagle, Abby Lynch-Buxton and Margaret Conley—were named second team all-district.

Seniors Jaeda Wade and Kenzie Temple, sophomore Paisley Hopper and freshman Payton Canterbury were named all-district honorable mention.

Eleven of the Lady Chaps—Cagle, Lynch-Buxton, Conley, Temple, Hopper, Canterbury, Pa’i Fualema, Jasmine Bright, Evelyn Retana, Kodi Reeves and Alexa Clayton—received academic all-district honors.

The Chaparrals finished the season with a 9-23 record, placing sixth in District 9 of 4A Region II.

Sophomore guard Desmond King was named the district’s Co-Newcomer of the Year.

Sophomore guard Marquez Lucas Jr. was named first team all-district and first team all-defense.

Senior Antwon Jones and junior Luke Hellman were named all-district honorable mention.

Seniors Jarvis Hollis, Carston Stephenson, Jamari Swanigan and Blake Wheeler, and Hellman received academic all-district honors.

Tioga

The Bulldogs finished seventh in District 13 of 2A Region II with a 12-19 overall record.

Junior point guard Ramsey Washington was named first team all-district.

Seniors Wesley Wilmon and Zander Zafar, and Kyson Kirkland received all-district honorable mention honors.

Washington, Kirkland and junior Raul Chavez earned academic all-district recognition.

The Lady Bulldogs finished their season with a 6-26 overall record, placing seventh in District 13 of 2A Region II.

Junior guard Ella Norwood and sophomore guard Timber Johnson were named all-district honorable mention.

Norwood, Johnson, Addy Lange, Addie Isbell, Kyndall Whitley, Skilar Hodge, Brennan Guenther, Zoey Hodge, Kloie Lange, Reese Robinson, Chloe Neal and Francesca Perez earned academic all-district honors.
