OPINION
On this day 56 years ago, my family began.
Daniel and Rosemary Thatcher have been an example of love and devotion to each other to me my entire life.
They have worked together to make a good life for their family and to support one another through good times and bad.
They have learned how to take on new roles to be there for each other in times of illness.
They have suffered losses together and celebrated major milestones.
They raised the six of us, and they have loved us through major life changes of our own, including every addition to their family in the form of in-laws and grandchildren.
I’m grateful for the example they have shown of working through the difficulties that come in life together and finding new and different ways to love and care for one another.
I’m grateful, too, for the way they have welcomed Jim into our family.
My love of journalism comes from the influence my parents have had on me.
My love of photography comes from both of them, but especially my dad. anyone and get to know their story.
I, for one, am incredibly grateful they both ended up in a bowling class at college that neither of them signed up for.
I hope to see them celebrate many more April 10’s together.
