LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
The heritage and culture of Pilot Point live in our memories and stories, but they also hide in our attics, closets and scrapbooks.
That’s why I hope you’ll participate in this weekend’s Pilot Point Memories Roadshow at our local museum on Saturday from 10 a.m.-noon.
This event invites longtime residents, newcomers and families alike to help preserve the stories that make our community unique.
Bring up to three meaningful items—photographs, letters, programs, recipes or any object that carries a story.
We will carefully scan or photograph them, and you’ll take your originals back home with you.
If you're willing, you can also share a brief oral history about what these items mean to you.
Too often, history reflects only certain parts of a community's culture and lived experience.
This event is an opportunity to rectify that by honoring everyday lives, personal milestones and the memories that shape our town.
Whether you've lived in Pilot Point for one month or 100 years, we want all voices represented.
If it matters to you, it belongs in our shared history.
You don’t need to be an expert—just bring an artifact that means something to you.
By participating, you’ll help ensure that future generations see a better, more accurate picture of who we are and where we came from.
I hope you’ll join us and add your voice to the community archive.
As a member of the municipal board for the Pilot Point Community Library, I’m proud to support efforts like this that preserve our shared history.
I hope to see you on Saturday at the museum.
