The Bissell Pet Foundation Empty the Shelters National Adoption Event will go through May 17 with reduced-fee pet adoptions. Noah’s Ark Animal Shelter will offer dog adoptions for $50 and cat adoptions for $25 in Gainesville.

The 42nd annual Main Street Fest will be May 15-17 on Historic Main Street in Grapevine. There will be six highwire performances between Grapevine City Hall and The Wallis Hotel at 11 a.m., 3:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. May 16 and 11:30 a.m., 2:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. May 17. There will be live music on three stages throughout the weekend.
