Passion really makes a difference.
On the evening of July 23, I had the chance to cover the Aubrey City Council.
During the meeting, they approved the company that will bring a massive park project to life for the city.
When I stepped outside to head home from the meeting, I got the opportunity to speak with Tyler Firebaugh, Kirsten George and their fellow Dean Construction team member.
Their excitement about winning the contract with the city and their desire to do a good job with the project were clear.
It was a reminder to me of how much it matters to care about what you do and to love it whenever possible.
That reminder came the day after I spoke at the Pilot Point Point-Bank Business Breakfast, where I got to share some of the highlights that we documented from the community over the course of the last year.
Passion helps us push through when we face challenges, as Thomas Daniels of Capital Plumbing and Mechanics mentioned during the groundbreaking ceremony for the Capital Gainz complex.
Passion also gives direction in serving others, as Lisa Cave with Point-Bank demonstrates on a regular basis.
That was also fully on display at the rehearsal for 'Always... Patsy Cline' on Tuesday evening where Director Cindy Kennedy, Stage Manager Randy Killham, the cast, crew and band all demonstrated their love of performing and dedication to doing it well.
There is little professionally that I get more inspiration from and take more excitement from than seeing the passion others have for their work or their service.
Sometimes society seems to discourage us from expressing our excitement.
I would instead encourage you to share your passions and interests with others.
Life is too short to be passionless.
