LETTERS TO THE EDITOR

LETTERS TO THE EDITOR OPINION

We celebrate community, the arts

My deepest appreciation goes to everyone involved in the production of “Always… Patsy Cline.”

This toe-tapping, heartwarming play lit up the Garage Door Theater this past weekend and played to a soldout crowd.

Patsy Cline, her friend Louise and the Bodacious Bobcats transported us back to the late 1950s and early 1960s—a time many remember fondly, as simpler.

The cast made us laugh, cry and clap along to songs we still love today.

The audience and cast came together for another important reason: raising money for the Pilot Point Community Arts Association.

PPCA is a nonprofit organization dedicated to inspiring and nurturing our young people through music, performing arts and visual arts.

One audience member shared, each visit to Pilot Point seems to reveal people joining together to build an even stronger community— and best of all, having fun while doing it.

The audience cheered and sang enthusiastically throughout the production.

They were amazed by what they had witnessed on stage, with many looking forward to the next Starbright Garage Door Theater production, “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Coat.” A heartfelt thank-you to the talented volunteer performers and musicians whose passion for music and the arts was evident throughout the production:

•Raeanna Sires as Patsy

•Maegan Jasbring as Louise

•Matt Boulia on slide guitar

•George Macias on lead guitar

•Don Hankinson on bass

•Mike Carroll on piano

•Dave Brannon on rhythm guitar

•Travis Hundley on drums

A big round of applause also goes to director Cindy Kennedy, whose vision helped bring this dream to life.

Cindy said we could not have accomplished this without the support of Kailey and Joe Hjelmgren, Kelsy and Jeff Neyman, Amanda Hundley, Randy Killham, Vince Lujan and Rodney Dobbs.

Their hard work and generosity made this production possible.

To everyone who filled the theater with your presence and support, thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

Because of you, the arts continue to grow, inspire and bring our Pilot Point community together.
