After a high-flying 2024 season that ended with a regional semifinal playoff appearance, the Aubrey Chaparrals came back down to earth in 2025, but the Chaps are back on the hunt in 2026, looking to make their mark in a new district.
A big part of the Chaps' success for this season could rest on four key contributors: running back Corbin Frazier, tight end/edge Blake Wheeler, receiver Will Storey and receiver/ defensive back Luke Hellman.
“Will is moving from quarterback to receiver, but he’s a tall, rangy kid who can go up and win the ball in the air,” Aubrey offensive coordinator Chase Marler said. “Corbin got hurt last year, but now that he’s recovered, we’re hoping he can get off to a fast start and be our No. 1 running back, and Blake and Luke are in a similar position because they’re both defensive starters as well, so we have to take care of them offensively, but they’re extremely experienced at this level.”
