Birding Walk at Isle du Bois

The Ray Roberts Lake State Park Johnson Branch Unit, 100 PW 4153 in Valley View will offer Skins and Skulls, 11 a.m. Saturday, Nature Center; Arts in the Park, 12:30-3:30 p.m. Saturday, Nature Center; and Fishing with a Ranger, 9 a.m. Sept. 12, Kid Fish Pond.

Movie screening at PP library

The Pilot Point Community Library at 324 S. Washington St. will have movie screening: “Paddington in Peru,” noon Sept. 12; Chess Club (ages 7-12), 4 p.m. Sept. 15; and AgriLife: Better Days, The Mediterranean Way (adults), 2 p.m. Sept. 18.

The library accepts book donations from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. every Friday. Magazines, VHS or cassette tapes, music CDs, encyclopedias and textbooks are not accepted.

Financial Literacy at Aubrey library

The Aubrey Area Library at 226 Countryside Drive will have Financial Literacy with DACTU: Money Basics (teens and adults), 4:30 p.m. Friday; Book Nook Club (ages 2-10), 4:30 p.m. Tuesday; Lightbulb Lab (ages 5-13), 4:30 p.m. Wednesday; Tween Club (ages 9-13), 4:30 p.m. Sept. 11; and Speech and Language Screening with Meridian Speech and Learning Services, 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Sept. 12 for families with young children.

The library will be closed Saturday to observe Labor Day.

Silver Bearcats

Pilot Point ISD is needing community member support to assist in adopting new teachers this year by providing notes of encouragement or small gifts throughout the year. To sign up, go to tinyurl.com/adoptabearcat26.

PPISD is starting the Silver Bearcats program for grandparents, retired staff and community members age 55 and over who want to stay connected to the schools. Tioga VFD to preserve history

The Tioga Fire/EMS is working to preserve history by collecting stories, photographs, documents and the names of every past and present member of the Tioga Volunteer Fire Department.
