Track season came to a close in Aubrey with the Chaparrals competing at the UIL 4A-Region 2 Meet

hosted at Memorial Stadium in Commerce.

Brock Temple (Sr.) finished sixth in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 39.94 seconds.

The Chaps relay teams finished fourth in the 4x400meter relay with a time of 3:19.23 and seventh in the 4x200-meter relay with a time of 1:31.06.

Jaedon Bogar (Sr.) placed eighth in the high jump with a max height of 6-feet-2inches.

Nathan Hough (Sr.) finished ninth in pole vaulting with a height of 11-feet-6inches.

Luke Bartel (Sr.) placed in the shot put with a distance of 44-feet-6 1/2-inches.

Elliot Kinney (Jr.) also placed eleventh in the same event with a distance of 42-feet-2-inches.

On the girls’ side, the Lady Chaps had three competitors reach the finals, but none of them placed high enough to move on to the next round.

Abby Lynch-Buxton (Jr.) was the highest placer for the Lady Chaps, finishing sixth in the discus with a distance of 107-feet-4-inches.

Lulu King (Sr.) was right behind her teammate, placing seventh in the same event with a distance of 107-feet.

Kynadi Hall (Sr.) rounded things out for the Lady Chaps, finishing 15th in the shot put with a distance of 29feet-7 1/2-inches.

“It's always tough when you have to end it like we did, but [athletics] is about learning lessons,” Aubrey head boys track coach Don Spaulding said. “I learned some new things, and hopefully, our guys did as well about facing and overcoming adversity.

Spaulding went on to thank the entire Aubrey coaching staff for the help and support they gave him and the team this season.

“They helped me immensely,” he said. “I don’t want to mention any names, but I want them all to know they’ve helped me so much that I could never repay them or be more thankful.”
