Polls across the Ranch Cities opened for three city council elections on Tuesday.
Residents of Pilot Point, Krugerville and Providence Village can vote for their preferred candidates in early voting from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Friday and Saturday, 11 a.m.-5 p.m. on Sunday and 7 a.m.-7 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday at any voting center in Denton County.
Pilot Point is the area’s most contested election, with three seats up.
Current Mayor Elisa Beasley is opposed by Chad Major, who currently sits in Place 5.
Place 4, held by Elizabeth Jones, who is not running again, will house either Kelly Burgess or Brian Murrell.
Major’s Place 5, which he will have to vacate after the results of the election, is vied for by Brian Ingram and Mike Wilson.
Place 6 is triple booked, with incumbent Andrew Ambrosio facing both Steven Birkelbach and Blake Hampton.
Pilot Point residents can place their election day ballots at the Pilot Point Senior Center on Washington Street.
Krugerville has one contested seat in Place 3.
Brian Firth competes with incumbent Shane Kading for the seat.
The election day poll for Krugerville residents will be at the Steven E. Copeland Government Center in Cross Roads.
Residents of Providence Village will see two sets of candidates on their ballots, though in one case, only one candidate is still willing to serve on council.
In Place 3, residents will see the names of Jill Cannon and incumbent Klayton Rutherford. Cannon notified the town of her intent to withdraw after the final day to do so. As a result, her name will still appear, and she could still win the seat, which would force council to appoint a different candidate afterward. As a result, both Cannon and Rutherford have asked residents to still place their votes.
Place 5 is contested by incumbent Jeff Doramus and David Vartian.
Providence Village residents will need to be at the Copeland Center in Cross Roads to place their election day ballots.
May 3 is election day, and polls will be open from 7 a.m.-7 p.m.
