Thank you, Pilot Point

OPINION

Thank you, Pilot Point It’s been such an honor to serve on the City Council, and I want to thank you for trusting me and voting for me.

I am proud of all that we’ve accomplished together.

Reflecting on our achievements, my personal favorites—like the ladder truck and the water tower that reaches the heavens— will serve the community for generations.

I have learned so much, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to have served the community.

This past year has been difficult for all, regardless of your stance.

I chose not to speak out when attacked. Speaking out would have fueled negativity and conflict. Choosing love brings hope and joy.

I chose the positive aspect of love.

Thank you for your prayers, flowers and kind words, which supported me. You will never know how much.

I made the decision not to seek re-election to City Council, as I could not ask my supporters to continue fighting this fight with me. I also want to thank those who doubted me—you’ve shown me hope and renewed my faith.

Being labeled as the lowhanging fruit does not defi ne me.

They saw me as weak and an easy target.

They found that I am not weak but ripe with purpose.

My goal has been to nourish my community with love, grace, peace and serenity. Even the lowest fruit creates seeds that blow to other areas, take root and grow into new plants—new blossoms becoming new fruit.

My fruit will continue to spread, to scatter seeds of my love, purpose, truth and the legacy I have planted.

Serving on City Council for two terms has been an honor and an incredible journey.

My last wish as I pass the baton is that we all heal and come together to improve our beloved little town.

My heart is full. Thank you.
