Aubrey students receive fall degrees

Chima Aghaulor of Aubrey received a Master of Science in computer science from the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta; Adrian Heard of Aubrey graduated with a Bachelor of Science from Mississippi State University’s College of Engineering; and Christy Neades of Aubrey earned a degree in homeland security from Des Moines Area Community College during fall 2024 commencement exercises.

Area students earn President’s Honor Roll

Southern New Hampshire University in Manchester, New Hampshire, announced the 2025 spring president’s list for students earning a minimum grade point average of 3.7 and above while taking 12 credits, including Melisa Osogo, Amanda Cahill, Tina Platts, Amber Lastinger, Jose Morataya, Morgan Pursley, Nkechi Nimely, Alison Gravley Strickland, Francessca Kirkwood and Lea Rodriguez of Aubrey; Savannah Wiltberger and Kyle Kline of Pilot Point; Gustavo Vaca, Lindsay Aguilar-Franco and Tyler Largent of Providence Village; and Justin Pasquale and Tejia Jones of Savannah.

Julia Tillman of Aubrey, a cybersecurity fundamentals major, was named to the Champlain College online President’s List for the spring 2025 semester. A student must achieve a grade point average of 4.0 or higher during the semester.

Local students named to Dean’s Lists

Local students named to the Dean’s List for the spring 2025 semester from Southern New Hampshire University while taking 12 credits and earning a grape point average of 3.5 to 3.69 include Jasmine Lewis, Kaina Oden, Tyler Roberts, Faith Fain and Jessica Garrett of Aubrey; Rachel Mitchell of Cross Roads; and Tabetha Valentine of Savannah.

Abilene Christian University announced the Dean’s Honor Roll for students who achieved a 3.6 or higher grade point average while enrolled in 12 credit hours, including Anissa Wayman of Aubrey, accounting; Ellie Finch of Aubrey, child and family services; Kimberly Starks of Aubrey, business management; and Ryan McMeen of Cross Roads, finance.

Additional students earning spring 2025 Dean’s List honors are Sondra Jones of Pilot Point from Drury University; Donovan Diviney of Aubrey from Greenville University; Olivia Bordere of Aubrey from University of Evansville; Kimberly Guerrero of Aubrey from Midwestern State University; Anika Richards of Savannah from Samford University; and Alyson Staiger of Aubrey from Angelo State University.

Graduates earning spring degrees

Area graduates who earned degrees during the spring 2025 semester are Justin Brides and Kate Keough of Aubrey from University of Georgia; Gayathri Devi Sundararajan of Aubrey, master of business administration, from University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee; Amanda Parks of Tioga, bachelor of science cum laude in biblical counseling, from Bob Jones University; Tristen Anderson of Aubrey, bachelor of science in criminal justice cum laude, and Tessa Brown of Providence Village, bachelor of science in biology magna cum laude from Sam Houston State University; Pavani Kalepu of Aubrey, master of science in information studies, and Venkata Naga Lakshmi Movva of Aubrey, master of science in information studies from Trine University; and Tanner Ross of Aubrey, bachelor in biomedical engineering, from Worcester Polytechnic Institute.

The University of Texas at Austin announced the following graduates: Kelea Gayle of Aubrey, bachelor of arts; Emma Hicks of Aubrey, bachelor of music; Rachel Waite of Aubrey, master of education; Samyukta Dinesh of Aubrey, bachelor of science in public relations; Selvadharsan Selvakumar of Aubrey, bachelor of science and arts; Mugdha Konda of Cross Roads, bachelor of business administration; Sruthi Morusupalli of Cross Roads, bachelor of business administration; Alexander Blandino of Cross Roads, bachelor of science in electrical and computer engineering; Ishita Sisodia of Savannah, bachelor of arts; and Paige Garner of Tioga, doctor of jurisprudence.

Students elected to Phi Kappa Phi

Komala Subramanyam Cherukuri of Aubrey who attends the University of North Texas and Michael Preciado of Cross Roads who attends Texas Woman’s University were recently elected to membership in The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, the nation’s oldest and most selective alldiscipline collegiate honor society.

Ross completes research project

Tanner Ross of Aubrey, a member of the class of 2025 majoring in biomedical engineering at Worcester Polytechnic Institute in Worcester, Massachusetts, completed a Major Qualifying Project entitled “A 3D Cell Stretching Mechanoculture Device.”

Area athletes win Randolph Cup

Tioga students Dylan Whitley, majoring in intelligence and analysis, and Cade Whitley, majoring in border and homeland security, both attend Angelo State University in San Angelo and members of the ASU Handball Club, helped the club defend its title to win the 2025 Doug Randolph Cup competition held at Lubbock Christian University.
