The final two candidates from Pilot Point’s May election will conclude their runoff election on Saturday.
Early voting for the runoff began on May 27 and concluded on Tuesday, with election day at the Pilot Point Senior Center from 7 a.m.-7 p.m. Saturday.
The candidates are incumbent Andrew Ambrosio and Steven Birkelbach.
Ambrosio garnered 47.90% of total votes during the initial election, which ended May 13, falling just short of the 50% majority required by the town’s charter for an elected official.
Birkelbach secured 34.54% of the votes.
The original third candidate, Blake Hampton, gathered the missing 17.56%, resulting in the runoff.
The two remaining candidates participated in a forum hosted at the Pilot Point Community Opera House on May 19, which is available to voters on postsignal. com for those looking to learn more about the candidates before casting their ballot.
