AHS sending big group to area meet

Aubrey's track teams will be well-represented at the April 19 area meet in Princeton as a result of their showing at the District 11-4A meet this week.
Twelve individuals and three relay teams earned top-four finishes at the April 4-5 District 11-4A meet, which also was in Princeton. The top four finishers in at area will move on to the April 27-28 regional meet at Texas A&M Comerce.

Aubrey placed third in the varsity boys’ meet and fifth in the varsity girls’ division. The Chaparrals (84.5 points) finished behind Melissa (200) and Celina (143). The Lady Chaps scored 82.5 points; Celina (151.5) won the varsity girls’ competition meet.
Kaia Saylor led the way for Aubrey with two first-place showings, 5-2 in the girls’ high jump and 35-05 in the triple jump. Jeff Wilbert (15.00) took first in the boys’ 110-meter hurdles.
