Living in the Ranch Cities often means traveling 20-30 minutes to major retail hubs for many things, including most Christmas presents.

However, there are many shops within Aubrey, Pilot Point, Krugerville, Cross Roads and Providence Village that offer residents a quick place to pick up those last-minute gifts without the one-hour round trip.

Shoppers may consider Call to Arms in Krugerville for their gun-loving friends and family. The owner of the establishment said ammunition is always a good stocking stuffer. He also said he sees many family members buying items from his shop. A top seller is a 9 mm handgun and ammunition.

Martin General Store on the Pilot Point Square offers a quick stop for vintage toys including baby items, Christmas books, men’s soaps and beard maintenance items along with men and women’s clothing, home decor and specialty food products.

Allison Martin, owner of the store, said she sees a lot of the Martin General Store products like jarred jams, jellies and salsas as popular gifts being purchased by not only people in the area but also visitors.

“[Shoppers] buy them for coworkers. Bosses give them to their employees. I make gift baskets for them,” she said.

She also said the store carries wrapping paper.

Revolution Rose is another shopping option in Pilot Point. They started as a boutique on U.S. 377; however, they have recently moved to being fully online. They sell ladies clothes and accessories and have some Christmas items for children.

“They can order online, and we do pickup and delivery,” owner Stephanie Ritchey said.

Pickup and deliveries can be scheduled for the same day.

Ritchey said that gift cards are a good gift because “you can purchase it online.”

She also mentioned last minute shopping for church events or holiday parties.

“We have a lot of jeans,” she said, explaining that one of the best sellers are their jeans. “We have really good fitting jeans and they’re high quality.”

Ritchey said their Everyday Casual Top has been a hit seller this season.

“It’s been the favorite for anybody … between our jeans and that, it’s been the number one,” she said.

Although they do have some fast-casual items, most of their items would be comparable to what Nordstrom or Dillard's offers, Ritchey said.

Jewelry offered on their website is listed at prices ranging from $100 to $600.

Ritchey said they provide an option for last-minute shopping that doesn’t take people into Denton or Frisco.

“If you don’t want to go into town to buy a pretty top for an event,” she said, they offer those items.

Pickups are done at her residence.

Modern Moon offers women's fashions as well.

“I have wrapped gifts on Christmas day before,” said Jessica Cross, owner of Modern Moon Clothing Co. based in Providence Village.
